Amazing GFS "UFO" technology
These are not my words but thought some here may enjoy reading this rant and checking out the video. :)

UFOs -- are they real? That's a topic for another discussion.
For now, it's revolutionary enough to say that something that flies like a UFO is absolutely real and about to enter production. Yes, I said that.
Before I go on to back up this amazing statement, I want to clarify something. Though incredible, this device can't travel outside the atmosphere. There are no exotic energy sources here; rather, it uses wind power in an ingenious and revolutionary way.
Neither does it display the kind of inertialess propulsion that would theoretically allow a UFO to instantly accelerate or decelerate.
Nevertheless, with those modest limitations, it really does fly like a UFO.
It even turns on its axis 360 degrees. There is no "downwash" of air.
You can see a remarkable video here:

Four patents have been filed, and the U.K.-based maker, GFS Projects, is seeking a British Ministry of Defense-connected industry partner.
Once you're finished watching the video (perhaps over and over again, as I did), you'll find the text of the Web site equally fascinating.
The company's list of potential applications for this as a transportation device is breathtaking.
Note that it can be scaled up to transport people, and perhaps even heavier things. Do you suppose that anyone will prefer to continue using cars, or even planes, once these are in full-scale production?
The implications for the reorganization of society are absolutely staggering. First, it's clear that these fly with little of the "backwash" that would be generated by rockets and jets. This means that such vehicles could potentially move through the sky sandwiched together almost like sardines.
Although most people would delight in piloting one of these things themselves (who wouldn't?), in really dense air spaces like Manhattan and Washington, D.C., it would be both more efficient and more secure to "slave" these to a central air traffic control system via embedded GPS devices.
These GPS devices, using triangulation to three satellites, could always pinpoint a craft's location in any dimension (up/down, forward/backward, sideways). This would allow for completely automated flight whenever necessary or useful.
Sidebar: My dream has always been to have a car with which I interact as follows. I enter the vehicle. It asks if I wish to be taken somewhere. I respond in the affirmative. It asks me my destination, and I tell it. Then it asks me the most delightful question I expect that I'll ever hear from a
machine: "Fastest route or scenic route, sir?"
Can you imagine that? Now imagine this: I'm not talking
Science fiction here, except in the "hardest" sense of that term.
Everything necessary to put these into production now exists:
-The ultra-maneuverable UFO-like craft -- soon ready for massive production -The GPS systems and computers in use today that allow for fully automatic navigation -The highly interactive, remarkably versatile computer speech recognition technology that's now available from our Transformational Technologies Portfolio holding Nuance (NUAN:NASDAQ)
-The highly rugged military computers that can be embedded in these craft and still function after taking a beating.
Put all this together and what do you get? A clear implication that as soon as GFS Projects gets its craft into mass production, this is really going to happen.
