Salt and weight gain/water retention...
Last night I was showing my girlfriend the CureZone and what the hell I do on this thing so much...
She was amazed at how many people go on the cleanse and just gain back the weight. She wondered why...so did I...
I searched old posts and came across a very interesting one...
The post (sorry, don't think I could find again) so concisely and eloquently explained,
'when the body takes in more salt than the kidneys can handle , the salt is temporarily stored between the cells of the body. The salt is irritating/toxic to the tissue surrounding the cells so the body naturally places a buffer of water around the salt. The post continued with the information that for every ounce of salt in the body , the body retains 6
pounds of water. '
I hope I did the poster justice w/my recall of the information...and will be research the validity of the theory/statement. It makes logical sense to me!
Many people after doing the mc, revert back to the same old lousy dietary habits.
I have since obsolved all dairy/refined
Sugar ,don't eat meat or poultry(30 years clean)yet have gained back 15 of the 28
pounds that I lost and gained back over the last two years+ of MCing. I personally think in my case it's the salt and/or the carbs. Please,God,Allah,Buddha,Snoopy, anybody, please let it be the salt! hah
As of today , I do hearby swear before all of you, that I will pinpoint the culprit.
I'm going to walmart today to weigh in. I am going to minimize my Salt(carbs will be under separate cover)intake until Sept 31st ,whereas I will weigh in again for my October
Master-Cleanse of 30 days. I am not going to cut the carbs. Let's see if the salt theory,in my case holds true.
During my October MC, I am not planning on doing the swf (not advised for newbies).
Please see my recent post re : cayenne-liquid or powder...

Anyone have any comments or enlightenment about salt?
I just think that we use way too much of it...I try to be aware and light handed when I cook, yet eating out or when others cook I wonder how much is used. Plus, I love my popcorn, Japanese food(soy sauce,grr),etc...
Just a tip...basil is an excellent salt sub in cooking!
