Any ex smoker should check into doing Dr. Christopher's routine, the lobelia purge.

It forces the crap out of the lungs. (See Dr Schulze's Forum possibly for info)

As an aside, I was in the navy for 6 years when it was okay to smoke on board ship.

I figured I smoked a pack a day just breathing the air.

Most of the people smoked then. Yuck!

I got out and every morning in the shower I was coughing up nasty green phlegm.

After a year being out I realized I was no longer coughing up phlegm.

I figured I must have cleared it out after about 6 months of hacking in the shower.

Ug!
