Fasting can slow the metabolism - thus halting weight loss (especially if you're not obese where pounds can just fall off because you're not stuffing yourself anymore). Add a weightlifting routine at least 3x a week to raise muscle mass - that'll raise your resting metabolism and you'll lose fat.
