Didn't get answer about the asbestos in lungs

As people got exposed to alot of asbestos in WTC ground zero .. the firemen, the volunteers, the survivors who were covered with all the ash, and regular people like me lived or worked in working places around that zone that breathed the smell everyday for several months..

I understand that you state that fear cause cancer, but what about all the toxins in our bodies that hurt us and we didn't know about them that we have to clean up.

So what about the asbestos that act like microscopic knives that hurt the lungs and cause them to make cysts and eventually becomes cancerous? What about that the doctors say it can't go out?
