er...gross details to follow: I suggested looking it up so I wouldn't have to say it! :-) Prolapsed means the hemorroid is swollen and is actually coming out of your backside - I'd recommend only checking in the shower! It is sore but it wasn't bad enough for me ever that I'd need surgery. I wonder if an internal hemorroid could be the cause of pressure as well. I don't know if that's it, but the prolapsed one felt almost like I had more business on the toilet but nothing would happen. Since I know that happens to me, I knew to check.

I know if it's bad enough to be painful, like in my sister's case, surgery was warranted. I hope that my digestion will be good enough not to irritate it (no constipation) and that in time it will self heal as I eat my fruits and veggies.
