Re: Help! Advice Needed! I think my sis in law has taken the cleanse too far!
I doubt if there is very much you can do or say to help your sister-in-law. It sounds like her problems have more of a psychological root than physiological. Its a shame she has fallen prey to bad advice. The key to alternative health and self healing is education. There is no "one size fits all" method for perfect health and healing.
Let me share one fact with you that perhaps you can share with your relative. That has to do with excess acidity. Her diet is probably responsible for her acidity. Although fruits and veggies are recommended to make the body more alkaline, enough calories must be consumed to keep the body from going into ketosis. When there is a shortage of complex carbohydrates in the diet all the glycogen reserves are quickly used up and the body turns to ketones, produced from the metabolism of fat, for its basic fuel. Ketosis tends to make the body very acid. This is very stressful on the kidneys and liver. Also the body begins to leach minerals from the bones and teeth to try to make the body more alkaline. She needs to include some healthy plant based fats in her diet ASAP, flaxseed oil would be ideal, and the Omega 3 EFAs might also help her moods. Whole grains will also provide complex carbohydrates and oils. The additional calories would probably counteract any acidifying effects of the grains because with enough calories and the right carbs, the body will begin living off itself and she should become more naturally alkaline. She also needs to be sure and include foods high in calcium, magnesium and potassium, broccoli come to mind as something she should eat every day.
Your sister-in-law is destroying her health. Soon she may experience hair loss or her hair will turn a brittle faded red color. I don't know if this will scare her back into rational thinking or not, but she is in trouble, I'm afraid.
edit- I realize this is off topic for this forum, but the question is too important to ignore. Perhaps it would be a good idea to post this query on the "Ask Curezone" forum to get more advice.
