Fasted at 2 wks preg, Lost baby at 8 Wks.

I fasted for 10 days from January 1 to the 10 this year. Without knowing that I was 2 weeks pregnant at the time and I did not discover the pregnacy until we were about 5 weeks along.

We did testing to determine the appropiate hormone levels (hCG) and they were normal.

We did great until 3 weeks later.

We miscarried.

I am not sure that the fast hurt the baby early on. My doctor thought that it did not, but everything else looked healthy.

So, I would suggest to be safe, versus being sorry.

I understand that miscarriages are hard to pinpoint the cause, but I wish that this was one thing less that we had to but in the equation as possible causes.

My husband and I are fasting for 40 days right now, but we are making sure that we are not in the same position in the future.
