Re: "When done properly"

First, I wanted to thank everyone here, especially the day 3-5'ers, for so much encouragement, support, and great advise. I also wanted to add a quote from Dr. Burroughs's book...

"WILL IT MAKE ME FEEL BAD OR WEAK?

In the cleansing process, some people experience a tremendous stirring up and may even feel worse for several days. It is not the lemonade that causes the trouble, but what the lemonade stirs up in the system that causes our dizziness and other disturbances. Vomiting may occur under certain conditions; increased pain may be felt in the various joints of the body; dizziness may develop on certain days. If weakness develops at any time, it is the result of poisons circulating through the blood stream rather than a lack of food or vitamins. This diet gives a person all the vitamins, food, and energy necessary for the full ten days or longer in a liquid form. Rest and take it a little easier if you have to –although most people can go about their regular business without difficulty. Keep right on with the diet; don’t give up or "cheat" by eating a little food or you may destroy the benefits."

Notice that is said "some people" have a "tremendous stirring up". This means that some, even those who are following the program PERFECTLY, will still feel severe detox symptoms. Especially those who have neglected/abused their bodies for years/decades. Some of us have also been on prescription drugs in the past, and these can cause severe headaches, etc. Each person's journey is going to be different, and each time we do an MC, we may experience something totally different. I just don't want anyone to get discouraged and feel they are doing something "wrong" if they are having stong symptoms.

Of course, we can all do things to help when symptoms do occur: Drink more lemonade and/or water, rest as much as you can, and primarily by keeping the organs of elimination clear so they can be effective.

Getting through the rough spots of the Master-Cleanse (both at the beginning and on long cleanses, when the deeper cleaning takes place) can be difficult. Reviewing some of the posts from "Somer" and other experienced cleansers has always helped me to keep focused on the end-result of cleansing, and to get through the rough days.

Rhonda
