How do I know if a maple syrup is really pure?

When I do the Master-Cleanse I usually buy my maple syrup in a health food store. But I see a lot of signs in the New York State from people that sell pure maple syrup. How do I know if the syrup is really pure and don't have any Sugar added to it?

I looked on the internet but couldn't find anything.

Can anyone help?
