Immediate Iodine Side Effects

Hello everyone,

I've lived with debilitating fatigue for 20+ years, along with frequent bouts of Depression and anxiety. I recently read up on the Iodine protocol and decided to give it a go. I'm taking all the cofactors and did the Sea Salt loading.

My question is as follows. When I take anything more than 1mg of Iodine (e.g. 2mg & 4mg of nascent, or 1/2 of 5/7.5 of Iodorol), I get this overwhelming fatigue (much worse than my normal) that starts a couple hours after taking and lasts a few hours. I also invariably get a headache (though not a migraine).

Is this bromine detox? Do I need to just start really low and go really slow? Take it at night maybe? I was naively hoping I would get an instant boost, but not so much.
