I should mention that I was only guessing, or going by "gut feeling" (no pun intended!) that my peristalsis was not working correctly. There may very well be a better explanation, because it might have been working correctly, as in the innervation, but still constipated due to more superficial reasons.
These days I'm doing better, but I've had to cut way down on the junk food, as well as 'drying' foods such as carbohydrate-rich breads, pastas, cookies, etc.
