Natural pain killers?

I'm asking for a friend of mine, she slipped and landed on her shoulder, the orthopedic doctor told her she has a couple broken bones and gave her a sling, come back in two weeks, he wouldn't give her any pain killers. She's in pain and can't sleep.

Is there anything natural that she can take for the pain and help her sleep? She can't do weed, it makes her heart race like mad, she's on other meds that may be interacting with cannabis so she can't take it. Same with alcohol, she can't drink.

Any suggestions?
