Astaxanthin side effects

I have had candida for many yrs but for the most part learned to live with it. Recently I tried astaxanthin for skin and eye health. After 20 doses every other day I developed severe stomach distress and constipation. Wondering if this antioxidant had some sort of effect on candida in the stomach to cause this stomach distress.
