Help; Baby Has Pinworms/threadworms in eyes sinus area

A VERY DESPERATE MOTHER

I really need someone’s help. This concerns both me and my 4 month old baby daughter. I’m struggling to find someone that had the same problem or someone that has advice 😔

When I was pregnant I had hyperemisis gravidarum, which meant I was very sick during my pregnancy, weak immune system. I picked up threadworms somehow. My Dr gave me mebendazole during my 3rd trimester and they went away. The threadworms returned numerous times since then yet following all cleaning protocols etc. Took medication again and went away but keep returning. 2 weeks ago, I got them again and took medication. It hasn’t worked fully this time and the threadworms are still there the days following..


Anyway, I increased dosage of mebendazole to two a day for a couple of days and they are still there. My husband doesn’t have them or perhaps has no symptoms. Has has taken medication incase.

I’m breastfeeding my baby so she’s always close to me. Now my 5 month old baby has started scratching her eyes so aggressively this past two weeks, as if something was in her eyes. There was white residue in the corner of her eyes most days also. I didn’t think much of it until 5 days ago something tiny came out of her eye that was confirmed by the worm whisperer as a threadworm/pinworm that was about to hatch. This will be sent to lab this week. Then yesterday, I seen a thread worm that was dead floating across her eye, seen another today popping out of the inside of her eye. Both of them broke apart when I tried to remove it. I have got a picture of this in her eye before I cleaned it out. 100% was a threadworm as I have them for months and recognised it straight away.

I have read other people in this group that have had it in their sinus area so I know it is possible for them to be there. I feel that I have them in my nose as well but my main concern is my baby. My baby hasn’t had it in her stool yet, I’ve been investigating this constantly but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.

I am heartbroken and so very worried. I’m honestly at my wits end, and spending all my time searching for an answer online but there is nothing. She is only a baby so there is very little I can do. I’m so confused and scared by it all.
