Iodine for Children
Hi all. I started supplementing with
Iodine a few years ago but I'm afraid I got lax and stopped taking it. I'm back on 25mg of Iodoral now and plan to stay on it now (will probably increase to 50mg).
Anyway my question. I have three children - two daughters (15 & 12) and a son (8). I assume I can give them
Iodine but how much? My son has issues (social/behaviour) and his school have suggested he may be ADHD/ASD so I'm sure it would help him. He weighs around 60lbs. I would rather start low and slow. Is
Lugol's safe to give children? There is absolutely no way he would take tablets so it would have to be hidden in a drink, and also he would not be able to take the companion nutrients. Any and all advice/links/reading suggestions welcome.
And also I know I'm being rather thick here but could someone explain the
Iodine content in various Lugol's. I am currently re-reading Lynne Farrow's book and in it she states that two drops of 5%
Lugol's contains the equivalent of one Iodoral 12.5mg tablet. The 5%
Lugol's I've checked say that 2 drops is about 5mg. What am I missing?
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
