OP, do you think there's a hormonal correlation with chronic chapped lips?
I'm a 21 y/o female and I've been thinking about this because estrogen and progesterone are like natural anti agers in our skin and is generally what increases the natural hyaluronic acid in our skin/lips; leading to the natural hydrated, smooth, supple, & elastic texture.
I didn't get exfoliative cheilitis until age 16 while my body was still developing. Prior to it, my lips were extremely pink, full, and smooth. It's discouragung how dermatologists just rely on suppressing topical treatments for temporary relief.
