the reason he didnt come in the era of mass media is because god doesnt deal with groups. groups get it wrong. we wouldnt have a reliable new testament if groups were in charge. by the time christian groups formed of any size or power wherewithal, the texts had already been formed from oral tradition. it was too late, too obvious and too costly to change them.
