God’s spirit had never, ever been “given” to humanity until Jesus ascended…..

Jhn 7:39 Now this he said about the Spirit, which those who believed in him were to receive; for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Hebrews 9:14 says “ETERNAL spirit” (God always had a spirit that was holy/perfect, but it was never “given” to humanity until Jesus ascended).

Heb 9:14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God (everything Jesus did for us becomes more meaningful because the Fathers’ spirit is now “given”).
