Do stone breaking herbs actually work?

It seems the removal of calcified stones is at around 50% effectiveness even after many flushes, regardless of the size of the stones. Has anyone experienced obvious results from Chanca Piedra or Gold Coin Grass, either in breaking calcified stones into smaller parts, reducing their size, or helping remove them during a flush? Thanks!
