I'm looking to get an eye exam and then get a contact lens and I have been looking around Calgary for places that offer eye exams and some of the clinics say they have optometrists and some say they have opticians (when I google them). I was just wondering what the difference is between an optometrist and an optician because looking at their eye exam fees, the optometrists charge more than opticians. I'm kinda broke so I'm leaning towards seeing an optician but I just wanted to know if it's the right choice before I book an appointment. Thanks!
