Agua-ponics, Yes as they used fish to grow the plants. Fish produce the fertilizer for the plants and the plants clean the water for the fish. Regular circle of life thing going on. You can even make one yourself to grow lettuce and other herbs over a fish aquarium. Use the filter pump, to pump the water to your growing pan and a small piece of PEX Tubing adjusted to just where you want the water to start draining or drill small holes in it at a certain height up the tube to drain the water.
