I suspect dental work / fillings to be the cause

Hey guys!

I developed EC a little over a year ago, in January 2017. I remember the exact date because I went skiing a week after and applied lots of lip balm hoping to ease the pain. I haven't been EC free since (tried the usual: steroids, diet, cosmetics etc.), all to no avail. Topical treatment would briefly improve the condition, but never fully cure it either.

However, after some excessive research over the past week, I have a strong feeling the whole thing might be related to some dental work I had done last year. I know I am allergic to some heavy metals as I used to develop rashes as a child when wearing cheap jewellery and my mum then had me tested. During my research I came across a lot of cases (both here and on YouTube + scientific papers) that linked the onset of EC to dental fillings. So I checked and I indeed had two dental appointments the week before my skiing trip in 2017.

I will check with my dentist what exactly was done during those procedures and get the fillings replaced if possible. EC is basically your body trying to tell you it's being intoxicated with something. As it's neither food nor cosmetics in my case, I really hope it's related to this. Will report back as soon as I have news.
