Need help with severe liver / bile flow issues due to chronic excessive coffee consumption. I started drinking coffee heavily (at least a pot) per day while eating a poor diet a few years ago. I ended up in the hospital with blocked bile flow that caused toxins to back up in my body and cause swelling all over including my heart. About a week after being out of the hospital and taking a strong anti-inflammatory I had a huge bowel movement and immediately felt lighter.
I've had various issues similar almost constantly over the past 2 years. I lost almost 20 lbs with no change in lifestyle due to poor nutrition. I've tried various "cleanses" and nothing seems to work. The fiber will make me go Day 1 but then i will back up and feel worse. Fiber in general makes me constipated and worse. I pretty much feel heavy and toxic all of the time and feel much better on the off chance I have a large BM.
Any thoughts or advice on basic diet and lifestyle to heal over time? Recent labs showed I have low cholesterol, b vitamins, and various protein markers were low. Could it be poor bile production instead of poor bile flow in general?
