Hydrogen peroxide and baking soda hair bleaching

Any tips on using (3 percent) hydrogen peroxide and arm and hammer baking soda to bleach hair. Many swear by it. Of course some say its a bad idea n to buy real hair bleach, but storebought contains all sorts of other dangerous chemicals as well as hydrogen peroxide. N just bc a company made it, doesnt make it that much diff than someone throwing chemicals together at home. Sounds much safer this way actually. More environmentally friendly. Have seen some good results of peoples' images posted w hydrogen peroxide bleaching over hair previously colored w henna. Ive used some at least 2 months ago, a reddish henna color, also i boiled in some red rooibos tea, have heard it adds more red color to hair. and am naturally brunette w some red highlights, some blonde. (my hair was strawberry blonde, sort of auburn, until i was about 6.) So im going for more my original haircolor or more orangey. Anyone have any natural hairtips?
