Day 27 - I can see the finish line

Just checking in on day 27. I have three days left, and it seems I will probably make it. Things continue to be difficult, constant nausea being the worst, and complete lack of strength or energy. I have only a trip to the chiropractor on the calendar this week so I will continue to rest most hours of the day. I will be breaking my fast on Friday morning. I have been surprised by the mental struggle this last week. I had assumed the most difficult mental aspect would be the first few days as I overcame cravings and hunger, but that hardly phased me at all. This last week though has been incredibly difficult mentally. Every evening I nearly decide I just can’t do it one more day. But I convince myself to get through the night and decide in the morning. It sounds easier than it has been! I think a month of being nauseous is just wearing on every aspect of my life. It’s not about wanting to eat (don’t get me wrong, I am looking forward to that) it’s about wanting to feel well.

However, my number one goal with this fast was to eliminate a chronic condition in my life. I’ve had menstrual migraines for over twenty years that steal 4-5 days from me every single month. I am cautiously excited to report that I just completed my cycle and I had no sign of a migraine. I am hopeful. I know it may have been affected by the fast and I will have to wait a few months to see if the condition has really disappeared, but I am hopeful. A month of feeling like death would totally be worth having those 5 days back every month for th the next 20 years or so :)

Thanks for all the support on this forum, I have spent countless hours reading posts from the last ten years.

Michelle
