Nothing new on this yet. They said that their sterol compounds might only "slow down one type of cataract" which is far from being a magic bullet.
On the other hand, judging from the results obtained at the University of Arkansas in 2008, eyedrops containing the AGE-breaker phenacyl thiazolium bromide or similar AGE-breaker would be a magic bullet. By restoring the activity of crystallins AA and AB, they would make senile cataract a thing of the past.
