Re: Manganese
Because of the internet?
I suggest don't post in VWT for a while until you chill out.
Try posting in adrenal forum, hypothyroid forum, metals forums.
Get a hair mineral test from ARL, TEI or Doctor's Data.
Post a short history of what happened to you and what you think caused what.
What is your body temperature first thing in the morning as soon as you wake up?
Diet?
Salt intake?
Protein intake?
Heavy metal exposure?
Other toxic exposures?
Family history of thyroid disease?
Amalgams/root canals?
Vaccinations?
Occupation related toxic exposures?
Any known exposure to radiation?
Are you eating sufficient calories?
Do you sweat at all?
Have you tried a quality thyroid hormone supplement from animal source?
Try going to the ray peat forum, there are a lot of hypos who are improving.
Read Mary Shomon's website about hypo.
My personal opinion is heavy metals are the smoking gun in hypo/hyper
Iodine seems to bounce heavy metals around, forming weak and reactive compounds with them. This would explain why people have both excellent, medium and terrible results with high dose supplementation. If the person's elimination organs, lymph and constitution is strong enough they can power through the detox. If the metal burden is very large and the person is too weak or congested then the detox will not be tolerated and the person will spiral down.
Please report your hair results when and if you get them. Joe Grane on the adrenal fatigue forum can help interpret the results and maybe someone on the nutritional balancing forum can as well, but that forum is not very active anymore.
Manganese seems like a real stab in the dark, especially since it's more of a trace metal, but any guess is better than no guess. I would look elsewhere and start with the hair test.
