Be sure to look up Dr. Valter Longo's research on fasting and cancers of various kinds at PubMed and elsewhere. What he and his associates found suggests that periodic fasting is highly advisable as a preventive or to slow down early cancers. ALSO, be aware of the ONCOBLOT test to find out if you have an early cancer. I understand this test is new but so reliable Medicare is sometimes starting to cover it. We had to pay $1500 through a naturopath but the peace of mind was worth it. My wife has an ovarian tumor discovered by accident when scanning to check something else that has shown no signs of malignancy but is a bother and she is using fasting to help keep it at bay, will decide this year whether to accept surgery, really doesn't want to do this surgically if she can possibly avoid it.
