I don't know if it will help you or not but I can only give you my own experience. I went to a dermatologist a long time ago and the first thing she did was give me the strongest steroid cream (clobetasol) and herpes medication. She said the pills for herpes was just in case it was herpes, which like some funny person posted a while ago, I thought was kind of stupid, but the medication she gave me was only like 2 weeks, not 6 months.

I had no improvement after the 2 weeks of the herpes medication so she just told me to keep using the cream which was also useless. Long story short, no doctors or dermatologists know anything about EC.
