I would recommend you to keep applying the product, cause even if there are small new lines you can still see where the EC area starts.
So i guess it would be better to continue the treatment for a little longer.

Its also interesting that your build up stayed on your lips. In my case my lips build up fresh new skin and it immediately gets off once i wet it or even touch it.
