The most logical explanation to me would be that at the time of flush, one stone, large enough, places itself at the cystic duct, that way it blocks the exit for any other stones, even those that are small enough and that may be able to easily exit through the cystic duct and through the common bile duct.

That is generally how multiple stones get created.
First, one is created and that one blocks the cystic duct preventing gallbladder to empty itself 100%.

That results in stagnant bile and formation of multiple stones.

As the time goes, if the flow of bile is low, multiple stones might grow.

So, you have generally 3 options:

- give up flushing and hope for the best and maybe end with surgery
- continue flushing and hope for the best, hope that one day your gallbladder will be strong enough to expel all of the stones out.
- continue flushing, but keep surgery as an open option, if flushing in the end does not give good results

Before that happens, you may try to use herbs that stimulate gallbladder.
Like chinese bitters like gold coin grass, copits, or like stone breaker.
coffee enema also stimulates gallbladder.

Magnesium also stimulates gallbladder.

Castor oil compresses are also supposed to help a lot with pain.

Massaging gallbladder and liver area can also help.

Foot zone massage can also help.

Most bitter tasting herbs stimulate production of bile, and bile flow.

The more bile, the higher chances that your gallbladder will stay healthy.

Gallbladder may become inflamed when there is very low flow of bile through.

Healthy diet, with a lot of healthy fats help keep liver and gallbladder healthy.
