Re: Question about the MAO-A plus plus gene mutation
These test are not complete genomics tests, they are just general test limited to about 1500 genome screening if that.
If you what a clear DNA testing you need a 22,000 genome test. This deeply hits all 23 chromosomes and what lies between those chromosomes as well.
My sons 22,000 DNA test revealed a deletion at his 22q13.3 at the long end of his 22 second chromosome. But general DNA test revealed nothing. Maybe it could generally give you some basic race traits but not anything health wise.
A 22,000 genome test runs about $25,000 and also should include you mother and Father as well. And if you can afford it your children as well, which could run a bill of up to $30,000 to have all those test done.
Neither I nor my wife carried the genome deletion our son has so they call it random or de novo. His genetic deletion is a rare syndrome and only been studied since 1997 and most writings came out in 2016-17.
