Something to consider...
I'm going to disclose something that is personally embarrassing. It's something I've been ashamed of for years. The reason I'm doing this is because it very clearly illustrates the points I'm going to make.
I was on the diet for better than a year and nothing seemed to change. I had my ups and downs, my energy level seemed to go up and down and my weight seemed to only go up. I spent my youth, through my 30s at around 170lbs - but when I hit 40, I believe that I nuked my gut flora with
Antibiotic in my chicken eggs. After that, I ballooned up to 230-240
pounds and I couldn't get anything under control.
I believe that my immune system was otherwise compromised and couldn't keep up with both the candida and my other issues. I'm being purposefully vague here because I believe that a compromised immune system may be a factor in fighting candida. If your body is busy fighting another infection, it can't work on tandem with the anti-fungals to fight the candida overgrowth.
My problem, I'd neglected my teeth. Some will understand how this happens - you take care of your wife, and your kids, and there just isn't any money left over to take care of yourself. I spent years hiding them behind a mustache. Mine had been getting worse for years and it was to a point that the infection was actually threatening my life. Over the course of a few weeks, I went through the process to get a full upper denture - completely removing all of my infected teeth (and a few that were OK, but would have been very lonely).
The change for me was so fast that it was scary at first. My tongue - all of the white was gone within a few days. About a week after, I started shedding weight at an almost frightening pace. My energy level was through the roof. I've lost 30
pounds and have been hovering around 200lbs. My
Sugar cravings are gone, and I have to remind myself to eat at least one meal a day.....my appetite is gone.
So, don't just focus on your candida protocols. Look at other aspects of your health and try to identify anything else that might be wrong. You may not be able to fight the candida until you deal with your other health problems.
