Dapsone/Lamprene...Why? What don't we know?

I have seen on here someone said they were cured of their exfoliative cheilitis after being perscribed lamprene.

Coincidentally I went to a doctor & they had intended to put me on dapsone - & while the doctor was highly intelligent he was a piece of shit doctor who would never return calls or follow through with treatment plans because he was too busy traveling the world giving lectures on oral pathology & dentistry as well as being an ivy league dental professor. Smart guy, terrible doctor. because of the doctors lack of getting back to me literally on like 10 different occasions (yes he is a legitimate doctor) i just stopped seeing him.

I went to another doctor (who knew of the doctor I had been seeing & said of him "typical if you're too busy for your patients close your practice" but this doctor saw the other doctor advise dapsone but then said he wanted to try more cautious treatments (like tacrolimus ointment). However I saw somewhere that this second doctor I went to actually treated someone with lamprene & they claimed it totally fixed their exfoliative cheilitis.

What is it about dapsone/lamprene that relates to exfoliative cheilitis? What mechanism in them fixes exfoliative cheilitis or treats it - and theoretically does this mean exfoliative cheilitis can be contagious particularly in the immuno comprimised?

We know there is...

Candida/yeast exfoliative cheilitis (nyu prof & doctor alexander kerr documented this in an older
woman; he seems to have only partially managed her cheilitis)

Allegies; toothpaste allergy exfoliative cheilitis

Facticious cheilitis; lip licking/constant picking exfoliative cheilitis

accutane & POST accutane exfoliative cheilitis

stomach-related (chrons, cholitis) exfoliative cheilitis

hiv/aids exfoliative cheilitis

*MILD* sjogrens exfoliative cheilitis; never seen full blown cheilitis in sjogrens.

is it possible there is...

Dapsome/lamprene exfoliative cheilitis ????? does that
mean it's from mycobacteria? do these similar medications work on exfoliative cheilitis like accutane does to acne? do these medicines change cell maturation; long term? i wonder what it is about them what has some connection to exfoliative cheilitis. does that mean there may be benefit in seeing an infectious disease specialist for exfoliative cheilitis? Hmm...
