What worked for me. Vitamin D3 oral 50,000 for 5 days and then twice a week, and daily topical D3 cream 10,000 IU/pump over outbreak after swabbing with hydrogen peroxide. Outbreak should stop and scab over within a week.
I had to stop all supplements for a week to take a saliva test. Got my first ever shingles outbreak at 63 exactly one week after stopping supplements which included large dose D3.
Restarted supplement regimen day after test was complete. Saw doctor two days later, dx'ed for shingles. Outbreak was already healing so no treatment given. Next day started topical vitamin D3. Two days later outbreak is all scabbed over; outbreak area is greatly reduced and heat, swelling, and redness is completely gone with little tenderness and itching remaining.
