Hey Chris,

Welcome to the forum. You have made a right choice in fasting with water only. But I must say that fasting by no means is a way to lose weight.

You will lose weight and cleanse as well. I also would like to tell you that don't give in, knowing your lifestyle you will face severe detox symptoms, I am not trying to discourage you, just want you to be prepared.

Also be prepared that there is no silver bullet for healing any health condition, if you were eating badly for 25 years, it will take you a long time to clean up and be healthy.

Most importantly to be healthy and keep the weight off, you really need to change how you eat. After you refeed for at least same number of days as your fasting days, you should do kidney, colon and liver cleanse.

You said you smoked and drank alcohol, which has damaged your liver, so best is to clean the liver and then fast agin.

Expect 1lb per day weight loss, on average.
