Changing to plant based diet and Barley grass juice powder
I'm a healthy 35 year old female weighing 55kgs. I'm fairly active - often running and doing yoga. In the last few years I changed my diet from typically SAD diet to whole foods and since the beginning of the year have moved to a more plant based diet only eating meat/fish once a week on average.
Since cutting meat out of my diet I've had a few detox symptoms, nothing major but think my bodies catching up on some healing. I experienced a bit of hair loss which settled after a couple weeks, had a couple of canker sores pop up in my mouth (each one only lasted a day), I got a cold sore which I haven't had in 12 years! It went away very quickly as well. I've also had a few tiny cherry anomias pop up on my torso. Another thing that comes and goes is I find myself some days staring a lot like I can't focus on one thing. It's not brain fog but kinda like I'm spaced out. Does anyone know what might be causing this?
In the past two weeks I've started drinking herbal teas and adding some barley grass juice powder to my morning smoothies (only 1/8th teaspoon) and my energy levels have since been through the roof! I can't believe how much such a small amount is affecting me. I feel amazing, full of life, my skin is glowing and I need less sleep, however sometimes I feel a little too amped up and on average every second day I feel my heart flutter for a couple of seconds. I've started biting my inner lip the past two days as well and been having a little anxiety. Will everything balance out and should I keep taking the barley green? Or is it too stimulating for me? Are these symptons normal?
Any help would be greatly appreciated 😊
