lunception
I've only recently been learning about lunaception or getting our cycle in sync with the moon.
I've always instinctively known that women's hormones must be off. Why do we not know the exact time that we are fertile? We should easily be able to plan and prevent child birth. Our brains are amazing...
why not?
Similar animals go "into heat" at the same time. This means the females are ovulating. We understand the rutting season for moose, and deer, better than we understand women? It doesn't make sense.
Just because humans ovulate monthly, doesn't mean that we should be so different from each other.
It's long been known that in nunneries, the strongest female influences all the other females.
They all sync up with her cycle.
I've read many times that ancient cultures are so in sync with nature, that the moon influences their monthly cycle. They ovulate on the full moon, and get their period on the new moon (dark moon).
So ALL the women were on the same cycle.
So why is an average woman not on that cycle, when every turtle, bug, fish, and moose is influenced by the lunar cycle?
Firstly, we are not sleeping on the ground, and earthing. Native Americans slept right on the ground, on furs, which means they were sucking up negative ions from the earth's magnetic field. They wore leather moccasins on their feet. They were literally grounded 24/7.
Earthing studies have shown grounding stabilizes cortisol. I think as more research is done, it will prove to affect every body system.
They also slept outside, so the moon's light or lack of it, was always influencing them. (Even in a tee-pee, the large smoke hole would have let in enormous amounts of moonlight.)
I have camped during the full moon many times. It is so bright that there a shadows every where, just like day time. But during a new moon, you can't see your hand in front of your face.
Modern lighting has also changed these natural cycles. Most people sleep with so much light from street lamps, night lights ect, that they never experience DARK. The majority of our nights are supposed to be super dark, where you can't see your hand in front of your face.
Plus, most people are still on their computers, in bright overhead lights, 3 or more hours after the sun has gone down. People in the past just had candles until bedtime. This prepares the body to produce melatonin.
We produce melatonin in the deepest dark. Studies on blind people show that our eyes have very little to do with this. Our body 'feels' the dark.
The reason I started researching lunaception was because my periods have changed so much. From age 12 to 35ish (when I got CF/F), I had a 31 day cycle.
As I made lifestyle changes, my period changed to 29 day cycle then to 28ish. But the last 2 cycles went down to 26, and I was alarmed. What's going on?
Then I looked at a moon calendar. I realized that I got my period on the new moon, just like we are supposed to. I am charting my temperature to determine if I am ovulating on the full moon as well.
It makes sense that all our hormones, not only our female hormones, are regulated by the moon. If I'm fully synced up with the planet and the moon, it explains why I look better than ever, since getting sick.
I've been earthing at least 22 hours a day, and been sleeping in a EMF cocoon with just my nose sticking out, for more than 3 years now.
I've only recently blacked out my windows with black sheets. The first few nights, I went into a massively deep sleep. However, I had a hard time getting up in the morning because it was pitch black.
Then I started turning my lights on at 5am. Now getting up was easy.
So how do you get in sync with the moon?
If your periods are completely different than the new moon, you can help it transition by sleeping in complete darkness for 3 months. Then for one day before and after, total of 3 days, you sleep with a night light representing the full moon's light. (Look up the full moon dates on a moon calender).
I personally will just uncover the black sheets off my windows. My windows face south, and I can see the moon right in my bedroom :) And I'll make sure not to cover my eyes with anything.
This encourages the body to ovulate!
Sounds fascinating doesn't it? It means that if we were really sure that we ovulate on the full moon, for 5 days before and 5 after, we could possibly get pregnant. I'm not encouraging this as a form of birth control, but more as an in-depth way of understanding our hormones!
It also opens up research into why farmer's almanacs say to cut our hair on the full moon. It sounds like non-sense until you consider that your hormones are at your peak! You are supposed to ovulate!
Plus, men are supposed to be on a 60 day cycle. How does that relate to the moon?
Enquiring minds want to know :)
