Acetaldehyde easily combines with proteins, red blood cells, and enzymes. It can travel to all parts of the body, even passing through the blood brain barrier. This toxin also blocks the attachment of oxygen to red blood cells, damages the structure of the red blood cells, and makes them unable to pass through tiny capillaries to carry oxygen to the tissues that need it.

Arabinitol attacks the immune system, the nervous system, and the brain. Gliotoxin disrupts the DNA in the white blood cells and kills them. Zymosan causes inflammation and is associated with psoriasis.
