How could we sum up cataract surgery in a nutshell? I would like to propose the following definition:
"An insatiable greed for money, and an arrogant delusion that the exercise of surgical skill justifies mass destruction of a critical part of the eye, thereby needlessly exposing the entire world population to surgical risks, and compromising the integrity of the whole visual organ".
But it also serves the purpose of:
"A smokescreen put up to conceal the need to restore optical clarity to the human lens, which provides more natural vision than an IOL".
