Florida Residents Speak Out On Mosaic Mine Expansion

Second day of Mosaic mining hearing underway...

There's a lot of ~concerned citizens~ voicing out about Mosaic's 3,800 acre expansion/rezoning plan for phosphate mining in Florida.

"I'm very scared," said Manatee County resident Ricky Mafera. "I'm very scared for my family, my neighbors, they're going to be a nuisance.

It's a 24/7 operation, we won't ever have the peace and tranquility, I've been out there for 25 years, since 1992,

it was supposed to be a protected land on all the Manatee County maps and everything, and they weren't supposed to be able to mine that. How Mosaic got around that, I don't know." ...

If the county approves the Mosaic request today, they would still need additional approval, including a US Army Corps of Engineers permit. "

Especially disturbing since Mosaic already has been deceitful, by not telling residents in Mulberry,FL about a massive sinkhole that opened!!!
