Re: My Water Fasting Progress - Rheumatoid Arthritis
Well I made it to the morning of day five, I broke my fast early this morning. Defiantly not as long as I had hoped for, but what a experience! This has has been a very difficult challenge for me. But I have learned some important lessons (Like don't attempt to fast when your home alone and have a farm full of animals to take care of!) I really had no idea what I was getting myself into, I mean I read plenty about the possible side effect of
Water Fasting but reading and experiencing are 2 different things. However with this experience I feel I will be able to complete a longer fast in the future :)
Basically from day two up until I broke the fast I have felt very bad with on and off low grade fever, aches and pains and nausea. The evening of day three I had pain under my tongue/jaw and developed a sore throat. The the morning of day four I had breath the smelt of acetone. But the worst side effect was the never ending burning in my stomach, like I had to much acid. Also on day four I developed intense lower back/hip nerve pain that made it impossible to even sleep, the only place I was comfortable was laying in a hot bath. I also vomited again on day four but this time is was not green but a clear very burning liquid. I chose to end the fast early this morning due to how uncomfortable I was and the need to be able to function so I can take care of my livestock. (Husband is away with work so I had no help)
On the the positives...
The morning stiffness in my joints went away completely and theirs a significant reduction in my swelling and joint pain. Right shoulder pain is gone. The pain in the left side of my abdomen has reduced to just a warm feeling. Something I forgot to mention in my first post is that I also suffer from seasonal affective disorder in the winter months, this is also gone and I feel quite positive :)
I broke my fast with a small amount of diluted orange juice, this was not tolerated very well though so I tried some diluted pineapple juice instead and that worked much better.
I know my body is still very toxic and needs to keep healing so I plan on continuing with intermittent fasting making sure I only consume easy to digest foods, I'm hoping this might allow my body to continue healing just at a slower rate.
Until next time,
~Cheers
