Differing points of view, and experience between the two.
Doctors are still human, so the patterns one person's learned to recognize as problematic is different from what the other has understood from the books and his practice.

Didn't see better blood results until I went from nutritional supps towards neem tea and raw veg, but was trying to fight anemia for a few years here.

Still using zinc, b1, and selenium (zinc methionine, thiamine mononitrate, selenium methionine) nearly daily, BIG help!

Iodine transdermally here and there.
Neem's real bitter, but cleanses out the microbes that contribute to low neutrophils and b12/b6 depletion when used consistently. (2-3x a day, I'm at 1/8 tsp per mug O'tea).

Got a friend locally who grew up in India. :)
