White tongue, cheeks after alcohol consumption.

Hi Dr. Bakker.

I don't have too many bothersome symptoms with candida. But lately anytime I go out and have a few drinks I get white coating on tongue and cheeks (thrush), and numbing feeling in mouth the next couple days and doesn't go away until I treat it. Is this due to a chronic excess of candida in my body or just a reaction to alcohol in my mouth? Do I have to stop drinking all together and/or do I need to do the candida diet to help this situation.

I have drinks mostly every weekend. But this started like 8 months ago from getting the flu after a vacation where I truthfully drank too much for a week straight and knocked my immune system down.
