Re: Why SilverGen?

Testing with the 2 MOhm potentionmeter shows how the Constant Current LED works. With the resistance set at max the Constant Voltage LED is lit and the voltage set to max which I limited to 10 Volts, current was set to 100mA max and read 0mA. As the resistance is reduced, the current begins to raise but while it is below 100mA the voltage remains 10 volts. When the resistance is lowered further and the current reaches 100mA the CC LED lights and the voltage decreases quickly. Rather too fast for my liking TBH but I do not think that is any different to any of the CS generators which all work on the same principle. At minimum resistance ie zero the voltage is 0.13 Volts. CS is never going to get to that level because it is pretty much a short circuit. The current I am using here is 50 to 100x higher than what would be used for CS.

It does seem to do what is needed but I would prefer greater control of current than 1mA steps. When I have the screws I need to construct the magnetic stirrer I will give it a try. I may hook up a temporary solution as I am fed up of waiting on this.

If anyone has any ideas on making holes in rubber bungs then let me know as I do need to make holes for the silver electrodes. They are 2mm wire which I want to bend to increase the surface area.
