I agree with this assessment. From my research, I have found that when a staph infection presents itself in one location, this typically indicates that it is present everywhere in the body, including the intestines. Staph in the intestine can induce colic in the child and cause indigestion or pain. There is also research to suggest that the mother can be an asymptomatic carrier of the disease, as it can be present in the breast milk and spread to child during feeding. I suggest the mother have cultures done to confirm the presence of staph as part of the treatment. The mother may be a significant source of reinfection, and should be treated also, imo.
