Earthing to heating system?

How do I connect to the heating system? I'm on the tenth floor. I have a radiator, I was thinking of wrapping copper wire around the pipe. Do I need to remove the paint first? How do I do this?

I've been using a blanket that connects to the electrical system, but I'd rather not use the electrical system any more. Just instinct. Tweet
