Gum around rear Molar smells when touching it
Back in 2004 I had
root canal work done on my lower 2 Molars, over the next 12 years the crowns had broken a few times and I had them repaired.
This year one of the Molars cracked again and an abscess developed. I had the tooth extracted, the roots stayed in so I had them drilled out.
This was 2 weeks ago.
I have noticed the remaining back Molar smells around the gum line when I touch it.
Generally my breath seems OK.
The rest of my gums smell fine and look healthy, no bleeding or soreness.
I started Coconut oil pulling yesterday
but am concerned the rear molar will get worse and I do not want to lose another tooth.
( I do not intend having an implant or bridge in the current 1 tooth gap)
My routine is,
Morning: Coconut oil pull for 20 minutes on waking, brush teeth with soft bristle oral b electric tooth brush, water pick around the gums and between teeth, salt water rinse.
Night: Brush teeth with soft bristle oral b electric tooth brush (different brush head), interdental brushes, dental tape, listerine mouthwash.
I drink a cup of green tea with honey in the morning and evening.
I take Homoeopathic Calc Carb once a day for tooth sensitivity (receded gums)from over aggressive brushing in the past in the hope that I may generate more Enamel.
I do not know if food is stuck under the gum line or under the crown or if the tooth/bone is infected.
I recently moved to a new area and the hygienist I saw here is rubbish, is there anything else I can do to clear up the smell on this tooth/gum?
