Removing it can be difficult. You don't want them doing a half assed job and getting spores in the air. So hire a company that has good reviews. Most will test it for free if you are in a city limits.

Also yes your brain would pretty much shut down and you wouldn't even be able to think and it would Come out of the blue while in the apartment. And you would have breathing problems also.
